About Helene

Helene Larocque was elected as Alderman for Ward 3 in October of 2004.  She proudly represents over 90,000 citizens in Calgary's largest ward.  Helene lives in the northeast area for 20 years where she is raising her family; in which she currently serves and is committed to ensuring constituent issues are heard and addressed.

As Alderman for Ward 3, Helene has been successful in pushing for the development of much needed emergency services facilities within her ward. She has remained focused on other community priorities, such as, improving infrastructure, increasing affordable housing, recreation facility development, and protecting the environment both within the Ward and for the City. On Council, she has been an advocate for public engagement, in making sure the community is heard on all issues.  Her position is that good government includes the community.

Helene brings a wealth of community, volunteer, business & public service experience to her position.  She served as the President and the planning and development director of the Martindale Community Association.  She was elected as President of the Federation of Calgary Communities.  Helene is also a past member of the Library board.
